Analytics of healthcare data, claims data, electronic health records, population health, molecular biology and immunology.
Following post-doctoral research, I started as a data manager and progressed to a life sciences research analyst at Truven Health. I then worked for a Medicaid/Medicare ACO working with population health and informatics. I was an associate regional analytics manager at IQVIA, then a senior consultant of real-world evidence at a company owned by RealChemistry. Most recently I was a director of analytics at ConnectiveRx.
I’m most proud of my efforts training and building successful analytics teams. Seeing trainees excel at analytics will always be one of the most rewarding work experiences for me. Behind that, I have previously been a primary analytic developer for some successful analytic product offerings. I’ve also been part of laboratory research teams that discovered some things that advanced our understanding of human disease within the spaces of cardiac transplant rejection and interstitial lung disease.
The best part of analytics is solving puzzles to find insights. I was the kid that would always dismantle a broken toy to try to understand how it worked and I did it enough that eventually I was able to sometimes diagnose and fix things. Working with data lets me scratch that itch to understand how things work and then ask whether we can improve outcomes. I get excited when a coworker approaches analysis in a different way than me and I get to learn something new–whether a methodology, or a way of using an analytic tool, or a new way to look at a familiar problem.
I love riding bicycles with my family. We ride off-road, rail-trail multi-day camping tours, and short social rides.
